It is important to maintain your mental health! Not only for yourself, but for those close to you. Here are a few ideas that might assist you in improving your overall mood.

  • Write down a list of things in your life that you are grateful for. Each day list at least 3 things you are grateful for and up to three things you were able to accomplish that day.
  • Plan to get away from the daily grind. Maybe a weekend camping trip or head into the city. The act of planning gives you something to look forward to thus improving mood.
  • Try something new restaurant or listen to a different form of music then your used to.
  • Express your love to someone in your life through words or action.
  • Connect if you are struggling with a concern. Reach out & share with a friend by telephone, email, Facebook, Twitter.
  • Laugh surround yourself with upbeat people or go to a comedy club. Laughter reduces anxiety.
  • Go off the grid. Leave your phone at home and increase your face to face time with friends.
  • Dance
  • Get it out. Write it down.express it on paper. This may help reduce depression.
  • Spend time with a funny friend/animal. Time spent with animals reduce the stress hormone.
  • Add omega-3 fatty acids into your diet. Take a look at your overall diet.
